Health Boosting Orange Peel Tonic

This recipe has been used traditionally for years. This tonic boosts your health due to its high concentration of Vitamin C.  Vitamin C, is a water-soluble vitamin known for boosting the immune system. It is also a powerful antioxidant that contributes to younger-looking skin, as it is needed for the production of collagen. Vitamin C also aids in the absorption of iron, B-12, folic acid, B-6 and vitamin E.  It has also been demonstrated that Vitamin C is able to cure over 60 diseases.

This health boosting Orange Peel Tonic is ridiculously easy to make, but it is a powerhouse of healing properties, especially when combined with cloves and raw honey!

Health Boosting Orange Peel Tonic

Ingredients:

1 orange, organic

2 teaspoons raw organic honey

3 whole cloves

1 cup purified water

Directions

Remove the peel from the orange and dice. Put inside a jar with a lid.  Add the cloves and honey. Boil the water and add to the jar. Cover and allow the mixture to steep for 12 hours. Stir and cover again. Allow it to sit for an additional 10-12 hours.  Drink the tonic at room temperature.

    • Hi Melissa! I try to drink it every day (if I don’t forget ;). It’s a great way to give your immune system a boost. Let me know if you have more questions.

  2. You just boil the orange peel, not the orange? Any idea how much vitamin c (in mg’s) you get from this?

    • Hi Sarah! Yes, you need to boil the orange peels. It’s hard to say exactly the amount of Vitamin C you get, but 1 ounce of raw orange peel has 63% recommended Vitamin C.
