oregano-oil-is-the-ultimate-antibiotic Oregano oil is the ultimate antibiotic. Oregano is a powerful herb with unique healing properties. Did you know that oregano has eight times more antioxidants than apples and three times as much as blueberries?  Antioxidants are needed to protect our body against free radical damage. They boost the immune-system naturally. Oregano Oil is the most potent plant oil in the world! The distribution of oregano oil  started in Ancient Greece. In Greek the word oregano is translated  as joy of the mountains. The Greeks were first to use oil for medicinal purposes, such as a powerful antiviral, antibacterial, antiseptic, antifungal agent and also as a remedy for pain, and inflammation.  It was the main antibacterial tool used by Hippocrates. Oregano leaves were traditionally used to treat illnesses related to the respiratory and digestive systems.

Oregano Oil  is The Ultimate  Antibiotic

Main Ingredients Oregano Essential Oil  (where to buy) is a mineral density powerhouse.  It contains calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, potassium, copper, boron, manganese, vitamins C, A (beta-carotene), Niacin.

Oregano oil contains four main groups of chemicals which are active healing agents.

Phenols including carvacrol and thymol. They act as antiseptics and antioxidants. Terpenes including pinene and terpinene. They possess antiseptic, antiviral, anti-inflammatory and anesthetic properties. Linalool and bonreol are two long-chain alcohols found in oregano oil. They exhibit antiviral and antiseptic properties. Esters include linalyl acetate and geranyl acetate. They exhibit antifungal properties. Although all these compounds possess healing properties, the most significant  primary compound found in oregano oil is carvacrol. Scientific research has proved carvacrol to be one of the most effective antibiotics known to science.

Not Oil Oregano Oil Created Equal

Real wild Mediteranean Oregano needs to be either of origanum vulgare kind, or Thymus capitatus, which mostly grows in Spain. It is very important to make sure the Oil of Oregano is derived  from these two kinds. It also has to have the carvacrol concentration of 70% or more. Most importantly, oregano essential oil  does not create harmful strains in the body  and does not have side effects the pharmaceutical antibiotics do. Moreover, it is effective against a dangerous and even deadly bacteria, but does not produce biological changes in the body.  Oregano essential oil nourishes the body and doesn’t deplete it of nutrients like conventional antibiotics do. And if you look at the statistics, people in the Mediterranean live longer for the most part. Maybe partly because of oregano which is added to most Mediterranean dishes!

  1. Pingback: Oregano Oil
    • It’s a controversial subject but from the information I’ve read, oregano does not appear to adversely affect levels of good bacteria in the gut.

    • Hi Laura! Oregano oil can be applied topically, or directly on the affected area, or ingested. It all depends on the condition you want to cure.

  2. Hello! I’ve been using Oil of Oregano for about a year now. I use Oreganol brand, but it doesn’t say how much is in it. Would you know anything about this brand?

Also, I clicked the link you provided, is that oil ingestable as is or do you have to put it in a capsule? The Oreganol I just squirt 3 drops in my mouth and swallow with water.

    Thanks,

    Vicki

    • Hi Vicki! Oreganol is a very good brand. Real wild Mediteranean Oregano needs to be either of origanum vulgare kind, or Thymus capitatus. You’ve been doing this right; I usually mix

about 8 oz. of water with two to four drops of oregano oil.

    • What would be the dosing for Oregano oil if you had say a respiratory infection, cold, flu, sinus infection or something like that? I usually do a garlic tea that i drink 3 times a day for 10 days as an antibiotic and it works very well for me, but this seems like it might work as well!

      • HI Molly!take 3-6 drops immediately and continue at a maximum of 3 drops per hour for a maximum of 10 hours.

  3. It totally worked topically!! I had something between my toes for over a month that OTC anti-bac cream. Used a mix of oregano, tea tree, and carrier oil mix… better in 3 days!! I kept applying for a couple weeks to be sure… but seems to be gone now. Woot!!

  4. Hi. Does it decrease in strength as it ages in the bottle And do you take it as a supplement or only when you get sick

    • Hi Lyne! It should stay the same for at least 2 years; I wouldn’t use it after that.

    • Hi Kim! For children up to six years old you only need to use a single drop per day, which can be mixed with fluids such as juice to dilute the strong taste.

  5. I have read that you are not supposed to use it for more than 4 weeks, as prolonged usage can cause liver and/or kidney problems.

  6. How would you use it in place of an antibiotic on a 3 yr old who has an infection and can’t swallow pills yet?

    • Hi Noelle! For children up to six years old you only need to use a single drop per day, which can be mixed with fluids such as juice to dilute the strong taste. In my experience, oregano oil is more effective than antibiotics.

  7. My one year old son has an infected lymph node on his neck that has been there for about a month. We recently took him to the doctor and they recommended antibiotics. I really would rather avoid all the harmful effects from the antiobiotic and use something more natural. Could I use oil of oregano to treat him? And if so would I apply it directly to the swollen glad, or take one drop internally daily, or both? Thanks so much for your helpful information!

  8. Biotics product called ADP is a long lasting one the goes through your entire GI tract releasing oregano along the way. Great for getting into the lower intestine where bad bacteria can overgrow. I don’t think drops would help with that.

  9. I am very interested in using essential oils and did some research last night and a friend on Facebook posted to this article. I am curious about the safety of ingesting because people were divided on what I read. Would you share what makes you think it is safe? Thanks. I look forward to checking out your site.

  10. I just started taking oregano oil for a resp. infection. Is it better to take as a capsule or as an oil?

    • Hi Emily! Most products do not contain pure oil of oregano. They are instead a combination of oregano oil with a dilutive oil such as olive or flax.SO if you take oregano oil as a capsule, make sure it is pure.

  11. I have chronic lyme disease, co-infections as well as Primary Immunodeficiency. Has this product ever been used for Lyme disease and co-infections that you know of? If so, what kind of results? I have been in and out of treatment since 2004. My gut is destroyed due to oral antibiotics. I have also had a PICC line during two of my treatments to give my gut a break. I DO take very strong probiotics. Thank you

    • Hi Debbie! Have you heard of GAPS? I know a couple of people who healed their leaky gut with the GAPS diet. Let me know if you need more info.

  13. I would like to know if the oil would help swollen feet and legs and dry cracked heels. I would also like to know if the oil would hel how much and would you use and do you apply topically or ingest it. Any feed back would help and where to purchase this oil would be a great help . Also my granddaughter suffers from ear infections would this help her. Thank you for your awaited reply back.

    • Hi Frankie! Here is what you can do for ear infections: Dilute 1 drop of oregano oil in 50 drops of extra virgin olive oil and use a q-tip dipped into this solution to swab your ear canal. You can also saturate a cotton ball with this diluted oregano oil solution and place it at the entrance of the ear canal.

To take it internally, place 3 drops of oregano oil in a glass of juice or water and wash it out with water afterwards. Do not do this if you’re a pregnant or lactating mother or under treatment for an illness. I recommend using doTERRA essential oils. They are 100% therapeutic pure grade essential oils.
